SyntaxOne SecurStore Online Backup Service provides centralised and automated backups of PCs, file servers and application/database servers with secure offsite storage and immediate online restoration. The system uses Asigra DS-Client, installed onto the client's network, which hosts the SyntaxOne SecurStore Client application software that performs the backup and restore activity.
How it works
The DS-Client is installed on any current server a customer may have. From the DS-Client all databases, file servers and PC’s on the customers network are accessible for the definition of backup strategy. The customer decides the timing, frequency and the number of generations for each backup set. Initially, the system takes a full backup of your data. After that, only changes at block level are backed up. The SyntaxOne SecurStore system rebuilds a full master for each generation of data, when recovery is needed. All data is compressed and encrypted before the DS-Client transmits it to the SyntaxOne SecurStore datacentre. There it is stored encrypted online on fast and reliable disk subsystems, ready for fast and reliable recovery.
For multisited businesses, the DS-Client is installed on each network, yet allowing one person responsible for backup processes to manage them from one centralised location.
