The data centre is located in Russell Square, London and is a 750M2, Tier III facility.
The perimeter wall of the data centre is bund -tanked to prevent water-ingress into the main suite, although a leak detection trace cable is also installed to monitor the under floor area. Additionally the roof of the data centre has been tank sealed to prevent water ingress from above.
The data centre has resilient power. Power is provided to each rack via an A and a B supply, with each supply returning to a separate circuit breaker in a separate distribution panel. Each panel is then cabled back to one of a pair of UPS units, each 250kVA providing 30 minutes of autonomy, which run in an N+1 configuration.
Air conditioning is fully resilient with the units located outside of the main space. Dual pairs of pumps and dual roof mounted air-coolers provide cooling for the five DX air-conditioning units (of which four are required to run and one as a hot standby).
The data centre is protected by an Argonite fire suppression system which is left in automatic 24x7, and a VESDA system for the early detection of smoke particles in the room.
Security is maintained through the use of individually keyed racks with the space, proximity card entry through the main suite doors and lobby areas. CCTV is employed along the whole route from reception to the data centre, which is recorded for 30 days. Access is via a pass phrase system with photo-id.
The data centre is a LMN (London Metropolitan Network) PoP (Point of Presence), and is connected by highly resilient dual 10Gbps circuits and connections to SuperJANET5.
In addition the data centre provides a wide range of commercial connectivity including direct and peering access. Viatel provide a STM4 connection and a physically separately routed WES 100 backup as fail back into an MPLS.
