Datto RMM requires an agent to be deployed in the customer’s environment. This can be installed either as a virtual machine on a hypervisor or in Azure as a data collector.
Systems running Windows need an agent while others, such as routers, switches and firewalls, can be monitored via SNMP.
For certain type of network equipment, Datto RMM can keep track of configuration changes. This feature allows an administrator to view a timeline of a particular device and all the changes/states since monitoring started.
Any critical alerts can be configured to auto generate tickets with workflow, so that remediation can be accelerated.

The Datto RMM solution shows a visual view of server and network components, with green indicators for healthy operation and the ability to drilldown and gain further understanding of the element effected: In this example the client has three internet circuits (with the third being two resilient lines). Each of the green squares with a tick indicates healthy operation of the internet circuits, firewalls, routers, and switches.
