BNF Capital
BNF Capital is a London-based family office representing the Anglo-French Perrodo family, founders and owners of Perenco, one of Europe’s largest independent oil and gas companies.
With a strategic focus on long-term wealth diversification, BNF Capital invests in a broad portfolio spanning luxury real estate, fashion, food, and emerging technologies. The firm plays a pivotal role in transitioning the family’s legacy from hydrocarbons to high-growth sectors, while maintaining strong ties to its energy roots.
Situation
BNF Capital relied on Perenco’s IT systems and support services, which lacked the flexibility to meet the demands of remote working during the COVID-19 pandemic. This highlighted the need for a more adaptable and independent IT environment.
In September 2020, BNF Capital contacted Syntax to address these challenges. They required a partner who could:
- Swiftly deploy a Microsoft 365 collaboration platform,
- Manage the migration from Perenco’s on-premise IT,
- Provide reliable ongoing IT support for their staff, equipped with newly acquired Microsoft Surface devices.
Selection Process
Due to the urgency, an accelerated selection process was undertaken. Within less than two weeks, Syntax had:
- Delivered a comprehensive cost model covering both support and project elements,
- Arranged a reference call with a client of similar profile,
- Submitted a formal migration proposal, and
- Reached agreement on contract terms.
The Solution
Syntax rapidly undertook a project to migrate BNF Capital from the Perenco IT systems to Microsoft 365. The migration included:
- Design & Planning – Investigation & Envisioning, and Analysis & Design.
- Microsoft 365 – Installing Prerequisites, Email Migration, File Migration, and Testing, Troubleshooting, and Post-migration Support.
- Laptop Build, Management, and Office ProPlus – Develop Automated Build, Install/Configure Intune & Software Management Tool, and Laptop Build.
- Security – Baseline Security, and Enhanced Security.
- Project Management & Documentation – Project Management, and Documentation.
Before completing the migration, formal support was put in place. The support provision includes:
- Proactive Monitoring and Infrastructure Support.
- Microsoft 365 Support.
- Patch Management, Archiving, and Business Continuity.
- User Support, including VIP Support.
- 24×7 Extended Support.
Following a successful migration, Syntax has since undertaken numerous strategic projects for BNF Capital, including:

The network comprises of two 10Gbps resilient internet circuits, 20 ultra-high-performance wireless access points, and over 650 active PoE ports.
- Integrating Other Entities – successfully migrated and integrated other BNF Capital entities into the managed IT platform and support structure, including Perwyn, The Method, and BNF Hospitality.
